Fee Schedule
Initial Consultation
No Charge (up to 1 hour per case)
A retainer of $500.00 is required prior to commencement
of any work. This covers the first 8 hours of work at a discounted rate. Any
unused portion will be refunded to the client when the work is completed. The
client's approval will be obtained prior to incurring extra hourly charges if
work exceeds 8 hours. Additional time is billed at the general hourly rate and
is due in full at completion.
General Hourly Rate
$75.00 - this includes but is not limited to:
- Prepare Interrogatories or Requests for Production
- Library and Internet Searches and research
- Analyze Validity and Reliability of Scientific research
- Identify and Recommend Potential Defendants
- Analyze and Compare Expert Witness Reports and Other Work Products
- Assist in Exhibit Preparation Video or Audio Taping *
- Expand the Attorney's Library **
- Review, Analyze and Summarize Depositions, Including Past Testimony
- Attend Depositions, Trials, Review Panels, and Arbitration and Mediation Hearings
* Additional fees will be
incurred if exhibit preparation or taping entails contracting with graphics or AV specialists.
All fees will be discussed and negotiated prior to contracting any other services.
** Purchase cost of books,
reference texts, or subscriptions is not included.
Records: Organization, Tabulation, Pagination, Transcription
Records Under 200 Pages: $75.00
Records Over 200 Pages: $75.00 / hour
(Organization, Tabulation, Pagination)
Medical Transcription: $25.00
Transcription services are in addition to other fees and may be requested for any Medical
Records reviewed. Transcription is recommended for pertinent portions of the records, for
exhibits, and when handwriting is difficult to decipher.
Case Review and Complete Screening
$500.00 - for up to 3 inches of medical records; $75 per additional inch.
This fee includes initial review of medical records and other pertinent documents, and
initial opinion report, verbal or written (please specify prior to contracting work). All
opinions are based on experience and on the latest scientific literature and written
(published) professional standards. Written reports are usually 4-6 pages in length. The
report usually will include identification of Breach of Duty, Standards of Care, Negligence,
Causation, and Recommendations for additional expert review and Expert Witnesses. Where
pertinent, the scientific and professional literature will be cited.
Attend, Annotate and Report IME/DME
$50.00
Expert Referral
$750.00 (Due at time of request)
Experts bill separately for their time and the client is responsible
for prompt and direct payment to the expert. We only recommend the expert we think best
meets the client's case needs. We make every attempt to provide 2 - 3 experts from which
to choose. We critically review the expert's CV, speak personally to the individual who
will serve as the expert and give him/her a synopsis of the case to ensure availability
and avoid conflict-of-interest. The client will be provided with the experts' Curriculum
Vitae and fee schedule. If the opinion of the expert is unfavorable to the client, we make
every attempt to locate another expert to review the case, at no additional charge.
